A 40 year old housekeeper was also in the home. All 7 occupants were native born to native-born parents.



1121 Glenwood Road David Probstein (Renter) 32 year old diamond merchant who emigrated here from Austria in 1897. His wife of 4 years, Sadie, was born in NY to Austrian immigrant parents. Her mother, Bettie Kosches, a widow, lived in the home. She emigrated from Austria in 1874. An 18 year old Polish-speaking servant, Mary Mohyln, emigrated from Austria in 1905. 1122 Glenwood Road Eugene B. Daby (Renter) 37 year old son of Irish-English immigrants to New York who worked as a varnish salesman. He and his wife employed an 18 year old African-American servant from Virginia, Matilda Baskerville.

1128 Glenwood Road John C. McIntire (Owner) 38 year old Pennsylvania born real estate salesman. His wife of 15 years, Laura, also hailed from Pennsylvania, as did Laura's mother, Mattie Eckert, age 62, who also lived in the home, along with McIntire's teenage son, who was born in Indiana in 1897, suggesting that the family had migrated East fairly recently. He and his wife Elizabeth had a 6 year old son, Lincoln, and employed a 34 year old African American servant, Martha B. Williams, from North Carolina. Arrested in 1908 for election fraud when Police claimed Waldorf Court did not exist. Promptly freed along with many others by magistrate. (See Cornelius Behan below.) England 1866
